Julie Golob - Dry Firing Drills

Julie12-1

There are lots of things you can work in dry firing. Remember dry means absolutely no ammunition around you at all.  I’m going to give you a routine of four draws, 25 times each, for a total of 100 draws in a practice session.

We are going to start with hands at sides.  We are going to get a good stance, feet wide apart, hands come down, hands at side come up to the gun with my strong hand, my support hand is open and ready, present bring the gun on target and squeeze.

Next drill is starting from the surrender position. Everything stays the same. I’m just moving my hands from a different position.  Be sure the gun is ready. Hands come up, come down, present, squeeze 25 times of those.

Next skill is one-handed shooting, one-handed transition shooting.  I’m going to change my stance a little bit, be a little bit more comfortable, strong hand only draws this time; I’m going to start with hands at sides. Hand comes to the gun, support hand comes to the chest, push out, squeeze, 25 times of those.

And finally weak hand transitions. Again, I’m changing my stance just a little bit. Hands come down, come up to the gun, this hand is open and ready, presenting and squeeze.

100 draws, and you’ll be 100 percent better on the range. Hope to see you there next time.
