 Mark Redl -  Reload Multiplier

Colt20-Multiplier1
That was the classic two rounds reload two rounds.

There are a lot of instructors that do that drill at 15 yards and they really push trigger manipulation, I do it at seven yards with a six second par time. The kicker is, every time I do it successfully in that par time, I up it one round per magazine.

My next run will be three-reload-three. If I do it successfully then its four-reload-four and so on, until I get to the point where I can't keep them all in the center zone and make the par time.

Three-reload-three is pretty straight forward with a six second par.

Four-reload-four in a six second par time, you really have to start pushing everything to make good hits and make the time.

Now we are going to move on to five-reload-five. It gets real harry right now. You have to stick your draw, stick your reload, and your splits are reducing down, and you have to control the gun to keep your hits in the center scoring circle.

My combat elite commander nine millimeter is perfect for this drill. It’s reliable, it’s fast, and with the beveled mag-well it allows me to stick my reload.

Wow, that was five-reload-five with solid hits. Now a lot of people probably think this is a mag dump reload mag dump.

Now, at seven yards I have to see a good sight picture with every shot that I fire. It’s very important that you use seven yards because of that.

That was a great run, next up six reload six.

They’re all in! Six-reload-six, with a 5.59! That’s a new record for me, but you know what this means, seven-reload-seven.

Wow, seven-reload-seven! All the hits are there. That was flying, but six point zero five, so I’m at my limit of how many rounds I can do in six seconds, but I’ll keep working at it until I accomplish this.

It’s giving me a great draw stroke, a great reload, and it helps me track my sights in rapid fire.

Next time you go to the range make sure you bring a lot of extra ammo. Try this drill and let me know how you make out.
